New Grade for spring 2025 is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety

San Dimas, CA MAY 7, 2025 – San Dimas Community Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that evaluates hospitals on patient safety performance. This top rating reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the nation.

San Dimas Community Hospital has consistently earned “A” ratings from The Leapfrog Group over multiple grading periods, making it one of only a select group of hospitals in the region to achieve this distinction. The hospital’s performance demonstrates leadership in quality, transparency, and a steadfast focus on safety as a top priority for the San Dimas community.

“We are honored to receive another ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group, which underscores our team’s unwavering dedication to creating a safe, healing environment for every patient,” said Parrish Scarboro, CEO of San Dimas Community Hospital. “This recognition reflects the extraordinary efforts of our physicians, nurses, clinical teams, and support staff who work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of patient care.”

San Dimas Community Hospital’s achievement follows a series of national recognitions for clinical excellence, including five-star ratings from Healthgrades for Hip Fracture Treatment and Gallbladder Surgery, and designation as a “100 Top Hospital” by Fortune/PINC AI. These honors highlight a culture of continuous improvement and commitment to evidence-based care practices.

Patient safety remains a central focus at San Dimas, supported by robust infection prevention protocols, advanced medication management systems, and daily safety huddles designed to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only rating system focused exclusively on how well hospitals protect patients from preventable harm. Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and updated each fall and spring.
